The Executive started their Fono at 2pm and were welcomed with an amazing powhiri by the students in the Maori Bi-Lingual and Immersion Units. It was an amazing mix of Te Reo Maori and Cook Islands Maori. Our Executive was represented by Faatili Iosua Esera as our speaker.

At 4pm the general membership joined the Fono and we were again able to give the floor to Whetu to address our members who were in attendance. After some comments and questions we were blessed to enjoy the amazing hospitality and alofa of the Pasifika staff from Newton Central School who their Prinicpal – Riki Teteina mentioned he was so lucky to have. It was an example of amazing “Soul Food” which we all enjoyed!
