Today I attended the Powhiri for the
NEW Principal of Waimahia Intermediate –
Mrs Melini Fasavalu.
This is a special time for Manurewa as this means that we now have 7 PIMPs (Pacific Island Manurewa Principals) in our area.

The Powhiri was an amazing mix of traditional Maori and Samoan Cultures. Mrs Fasavalu was supported by her family and friends as well as her beloved Wiri Central School – Staff and students where she has been the Deputy Principal for some years.
On behalf of my school and my fellow PIMPs and NZPPA (NZ Pasifka Principals Association) I wish you all the best and welcome you to seek our support when ever you need it … no question or request is ever too silly as we are here to support and guide you.
